Features: Philosophy Basics is a national planned teaching material for secondary vocational education. It was developed based on extensive research into the moral education curriculum of secondary vocational schools, fully understanding the actual conditions of students, teaching, and teaching reform, and in accordance with the newly promulgated teaching by the Ministry of Education. It elaborates on the basics of Marxist philosophy from six aspects: "Adhering to objective reality, using the perspectives of connection, development, and contradiction to view problems, improving the ability to understand things, recognizing social history from productive activities, establishing a correct life value, and realizing life ideals through social practice." This emphasizes the practical and realistic significance of learning Marxist philosophy.
2. Each chapter begins with a classic quote from a renowned philosopher, and each section introduces the topic with a typical case study. While ensuring the scientific presentation of theory, it simplifies abstract concepts and principles, accompanied by pictures, cartoons, diagrams, etc., making the content visually engaging and vivid, thereby stimulating students' interest and enhancing learning effectiveness.
3. Each section includes "Thinking and Training," with flexible question types that align with ability development, helping students deeply understand and master basic philosophical concepts and principles. Each chapter features "Activity World," emphasizing practical teaching, combining theoretical instruction with practical training, allowing students to apply philosophical knowledge to analyze and solve real-world social problems.
4. To facilitate teaching and adapt to reforms in teaching methods and tools, Higher Education Press will organize the writing of supplementary teacher reference books and student learning materials, as well as the development of computer-assisted teaching software.
This book is edited by Zhao Jiakang, an advisor to the Chinese Historical Materialism Society, a renowned professor, and a doctoral supervisor at Peking University. It is co-authored by Wang Yueming, a professor at Nankai University, and Wu Chuanqi, a senior lecturer at Hubei Medical School. These authors are either long-term educators and researchers in Marxist philosophy, involved in setting exam questions for various adult college entrance exams and self-study exams, or they participated in drafting the teaching for Philosophy Basics in secondary vocational schools, familiar with the intent of the and the actual conditions of moral education teaching in these schools. Their collaborative strengths complement each other, ensuring the scientific content and internal quality of the textbook while enhancing the relevance and practicality of secondary vocational education.
