Features: Tibet Museum is a large, modernized, comprehensive museum, serving as a hall of ethnic culture and art. Tibet Museum boasts a rich collection of artifacts, with its Ming and Qing dynasty porcelain displaying distinct characteristics. The author has visited Tibet three times and has been deeply impressed by it. The porcelain collection exhibits two significant features. First, the collection is abundant and of high quality. Tibet Museum houses thousands of Ming and Qing dynasty porcelain pieces, with a wide variety of types and exceptional quality, rarely seen in provincial-level museums in China. They are truly "treasures of the Snowland." These porcelain pieces were likely bestowed upon Tibetan elites by the imperial court during the Ming and Qing dynasties. During the Ming and Qing periods, Han-Tibetan relations were close, with frequent tributes from Tibet and imperial gifts. The gifts included Buddha statues and ritual implements in line with Tibetan Buddhism, as well as porcelain from Jingdezhen imperial kilns, which are frequently recorded in Han-Tibetan historical documents. Second, the Tibetan porcelain reflects a strong Tibetan cultural identity, showcasing Tibet as a member of the Chinese ethnic family with a long history and splendid culture. China is a unified multi-ethnic nation. The Tibetan ethnic group is an integral part of the Chinese ethnic family, with a long history and splendid culture. As early as the Stone Age, the ancestors of the Tibetan people had thrived on the picturesque Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Through their diligence, courage, and wisdom, they developed this vast and fertile land, creating a profound and unique cultural system with distinct ethnic traditions. The 80+ porcelain pieces selected for this book represent only a small portion of the museum's collection. To ensure the scientific accuracy and reliability of the book, Mr. Geng Baochang, a porcelain expert from the Palace Museum, was specially invited to appraise each selected piece.
