Features: Teaching reform is a hot topic today. As the foundational disciplines of higher education, humanities and social sciences play a crucial role in promoting the humanistic spirit of the Chinese nation and enhancing the humanistic qualities of college students. This is undoubtedly a major task faced by universities in teaching and scientific research in humanities and social sciences. Under the advocacy of the Central Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Education, domestic sister institutions have conducted many valuable explorations in teaching reform in humanities and social sciences, achieving encouraging results that are worth learning from and referencing. It is inspiring that our short course teaching reform has been widely recognized and welcomed by students, which has undoubtedly greatly strengthened our confidence in further combining teaching and scientific research in short course reform. For this reason, we have decided to select a batch of short courses from these 200 courses that are both academically innovative and suitable for cultivating interdisciplinary talents in higher education. We will refine and elevate them, publishing them under the name of the "Innovative Series of Humanistic Education Reform." We believe that this series, with its concise, refined, and innovative features, will, to some extent, set a precedent for teaching reform in humanities and social sciences across Chinese universities.
