Features: Verbs are the core of the Japanese language. In the practice of the Japanese language, common verbs occupy a very important position. Mastering the usage of these verbs is the key to learning Japanese well. As a trial, the Department of Japanese, Tianjin University of Foreign Languages, established this project with the strong support of Jilin Education Press in 1996 and compiled this "Dictionary of Usage of Common Japanese Verbs." This dictionary was compiled on the basis of referring to the latest research results at home and abroad and conducting an in-depth, exploratory study on the usage of common Japanese verbs.
First, the more than 1,500 entries in this dictionary were selected from the most commonly used verbs that appear in textbooks such as the "Test Questions Standards for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test," "New Mirrors of National Language Dictionary," and "Standard Japanese." Fully considering the difficulties faced by Chinese learners of Japanese, these verbs were carefully categorized and refined based on their daily usage frequency, and repeatedly screened to determine the final selection.
In summary, this dictionary has the following five distinctive features: 1. It selects more than 1,500 verbs that are difficult for Chinese learners to master but are extremely common in Japanese. 2. It uses underlines to highlight the basic sentence patterns and common collocations in example sentences, making them clear and concise, highly practical, and allowing readers to easily grasp the basic usage and collocations of verbs. 3. The selected example sentences emphasize interpretive and demonstrative aspects of meaning and usage, and are easy to understand and highly practical. 4. It provides brief and clear explanations in the form of translation plus annotations to distinguish between the usage of common words and synonymous verbs, helping readers naturally grasp the correct usage of identical and synonymous verbs while reading. 5. It briefly clarifies the morphological collocations of verbs.
This dictionary is a fundamental reference tool for Japanese learners with a certain level of proficiency. It is not only suitable for readers to consult but also has a certain readability, making it suitable for a broad range of Japanese learners as well as professionals engaged in Japanese translation, teaching, and research.
