This book is a compilation of Professor Chen Yinque's lecture notes and miscellaneous writings. The Letter Collection, Notes on Reading (Volume II), Notes on Reading (Volume III), and Lectures and Miscellaneous Manuscripts are newly compiled. The editorial style of the book is as follows:
1. The content collected has been preserved in its original published form. Works that have been revised by the author are presented as their final revised versions. Uncollected manuscripts are primarily transcribed based on the author's handwriting.
2. All published and unpublished works included in this collection have been proofread. Discrepancies in style or errors in text are corrected. Citations are generally verified against current annotated editions, such as the Twenty-Four Histories or the Zizhi Tongjian. For historical materials without annotated editions, the commonly accepted editions are used for verification. A small number of the author's marginal notes or comments are specific to the original version and are therefore retained as they appear, without any proofreading marks.
3. For published essays, prefaces, and letters, the original publication source and date are appended. For unpublished manuscripts, the writing date is noted as much as possible.
4. In accordance with the author's wishes, the entire book is typeset in traditional vertical characters. Names, places, and titles are not marked with symbols. Common characters are generally used, while a few variant characters are retained.
