Features: Since the mid-1980s of the 20th century, cardiovascular diseases have been the leading cause of death among adults in China. In the past 20 years, this situation has not changed. Actively preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases has become a major issue in China's medical and health field. For cardiovascular specialists, effectively reducing the mortality and disability rates of cardiovascular diseases is an unavoidable responsibility. In recent years, there have been rapid advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. New therapeutic drugs, such as ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers, and statin esters, have continuously emerged, and large-scale clinical trials have consistently summarized innovative treatment recommendations. In addition to medications, new treatment methods have also been constantly developed. Especially in the field of interventional therapy, it has significantly changed and enriched treatment options for patients, improving efficacy. In the face of these developments, clinicians need to update their knowledge and keep pace with modern medicine. For this purpose, the Department of Cardiology at Peking Union Medical College Hospital has compiled this book, Cardiovascular Hotspots. It is not a comprehensive textbook of cardiology but rather an overview and discussion of current "hot" issues in clinical cardiovascular medicine.
