Features: Traumatology is an ancient discipline and also an important one in clinical medicine. In recent years, the rapid development of molecular biology and its integration into traumatology have brought a fresh perspective to the field, generating numerous new concepts, techniques, methods, and theories in basic research, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of trauma. This has gradually brought the emerging interdisciplinary field of molecular traumatology into the spotlight. This book is a concentrated reflection of this significant development in the discipline. It is the research outcome of the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) on "Basic Research of Traumatology," led by Academician Wang Zhengguo as the chief scientist, and was collectively completed by dozens of domestic traumatology experts organized by Academician Wang. Trauma is one of the oldest topics in medicine, with its origins dating back to the dawn of humanity. In modern society, despite the advancements in medicine that have effectively controlled many diseases, trauma has only increased, earning the moniker "the twin brother of modern civilization." This book introduces the concepts, research content, basic theories, common techniques of molecular traumatology, as well as topics such as stress, ischemia-reperfusion shock, traumatic infection, traumatic immunity, organ failure, tissue repair, neuroregeneration, genetic variability, and more. It also covers gene therapy for trauma, the application of genetic engineering products, the molecular basis of trauma prevention, and the use of bioinformatics in traumatology. The book is approximately 1.6 million words in length, with over 70 contributing authors who are middle-aged and young experts working on the line, highly familiar with the content they wrote, and possessing considerable writing experience. Thus, the quality of the book's content is well-assured. Due to space constraints and in accordance with relevant publishing requirements, only the main references from the past five years are listed in this book, while other references are omitted.
