Features: With the advancement of society and the development of science and technology, China's ophthalmology has made rapid progress and improvement in both basic theory and clinical medicine. The branches of ophthalmology have become increasingly diverse, and research has deepened, leading to the proposal of many new viewpoints and concepts. As the reform and opening-up continue to deepen and international exchanges expand, the demand for professional English proficiency in ophthalmology among medical workers, medical students, and especially those engaged in basic and clinical ophthalmology research has become increasingly high. To enable everyone to understand the general concepts of ophthalmology and their English equivalents in a relatively short time, we referred to over 30 ophthalmology (monographs), reviewed a large number of Chinese and English literature, and compiled the "Chinese-English Ophthalmology Terminology Dictionary." This book consists of two main parts:
⑴ Main Text: Common Terminology, including 1,223 basic ophthalmology concepts and their English equivalents;
⑵ Appendix:
① Common Abbreviations: Including 300 English abbreviations and their Chinese equivalents;
② Common Pathogenic Bacteria: Including 57 pathogenic bacteria related to ophthalmology with their Chinese and English names;
③ English and Chinese names of commonly used ophthalmic drugs.
This book gathers the essence of various ophthalmology specialties, reflects the latest developments in ophthalmology, and provides a comprehensive summary of knowledge in all aspects of the field. It expresses a vast amount of content in highly concise language, achieving the goal of understanding the whole by grasping a part.
