The Liugugé Cemetery in the southeastern suburbs of Huixian County, Henan, is a family burial ground of the aristocracy of the State of Wei during the Warring States period. In December 1935 and spring 1937, the former Central Research Institute conducted excavations on a batch of Warring States tombs here. During this time, the Henan Provincial Museum excavated two large tombs, Jia and Yi, in the northeastern corner of the cemetery from September to November 1936, yielding rich results. In 1950 and 1951, the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences conducted two more excavations at this cemetery.
These five excavations unearthed 80 Warring States tombs, which were arranged in an orderly manner, showing differences in scale, number of burial artifacts, and chronological order. Notably, the well-preserved tombs yielded a large number of jade artifacts, serving as important references for studying the jade usage system during the Warring States period.
