This book is compiled by selecting characters from the manuscript. The calligraphy in this piece is exceptionally skillful, preserving many characteristics of the Six Dynasties period. The forms are not fixed; identical radicals and turns are often varied for aesthetic purposes, differing greatly from the rigid uniformity emphasized after the Sui and Tang dynasties. Tang Li Sizhen praised its extraordinary refinement. Su Shi described it as having deep stability, embodying the essence of various styles, and achieving a level of perfection that paradoxically creates a sense of openness. Mi Fu called it elegant, lustrous, and vigorous, with a comprehensive charm, all of which were highly regarded. This book rearranges similar or identical calligraphic techniques and structures to summarize the principles of Zhi Yong's artistry, making it easier for beginners to learn and observe, and allowing them to discover the joy of finding uniqueness within similarity.
