Lin Yifu is the Director of the National School of Development at Peking University, a Professor, and a Doctoral Supervisor. He earned his Master's degree in Economics from Peking University in 1982 and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago in 1986. In 2004, he received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Orléans in France. His main teaching and research fields include agricultural economics, development economics, and China's economic reform. He has published numerous academic works and more than 100 papers in renowned domestic and international journals and has been awarded several important domestic and international honors.
He has previously served as the Deputy Director of the Development Research Institute under the National Development Research Center, the Deputy Director of the Development Research Institute under the National Development Research Center, the Deputy Minister of the Rural Department under the National Development Research Center, and a member of the National Committee of the Seventh to Tenth National People's Congress. Currently, he holds important social positions such as a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Tianze Institute of Economics, an advisor to the World Bank, and a member of the editorial boards of several domestic and international academic journals. He is also an anonymous reviewer for more than ten overseas English-language journals.
