Features: This book is organized according to the chapter sequence of the textbook. The content is closely aligned with Mathematical Methods III and IV. Chapters that appear in the textbook but do not belong to Mathematical Methods III and IV are omitted from this book. Each chapter consists of five parts:
1. Key Points Overview. This includes the rationale for the chapter, the problems to be addressed, important concepts, definitions, theorems, and various typical problem-solving procedures. Essentially, the Key Points Overview serves as class notes and is the foundation for solving problems.
2. Problem Analysis. This covers the judgment of important true-or-false questions, the understanding of key concepts, definitions, and theorems, and the analysis of common errors in problem-solving. Through Problem Analysis, readers will gain a deeper understanding of the material.
3. Selected Problem Solutions. We have selected and solved most of the exercises from Advanced Mathematics, 2nd Edition, edited by the Department of Applied Mathematics at Tongji University, from the numerous textbooks currently available. This textbook was chosen because it is widely used nationwide and features exercises of moderate difficulty.
4. Practice Exercises. Based on the trends of postgraduate entrance exams, we have carefully compiled exercises with a certain level of difficulty and skill for readers to practice, helping them adapt to solving and understanding exam questions.
5. Detailed Solutions to Past Exam Questions. In this section, we have collected all the exam questions related to Mathematical Methods III and IV from 1987 to 2004, listed chapter by chapter, and provided solutions. We hope that while readers study advanced mathematics, they can also engage in close interaction with exam questions. Working through and reviewing these questions can greatly broaden their problem-solving perspectives, enhance their flexibility and skill in solving problems, and provide a more comprehensive grasp of exam trends.
