Features: With the continuous deepening and development of reform and opening-up, China's exchanges and cooperation with the world in economic, cultural, and educational fields have become increasingly frequent. Overseas individuals coming to China for investment, business, teaching, tourism, and academic activities have been arriving one after another. During these interactions, English serves as an effective tool for communication. The "Teaching Requirements for College English Courses" issued by the State Education Commission proposes the college English teaching goal of "cultivating students' comprehensive English application skills, especially listening and speaking skills." This fully reflects the reform trends and development direction of English. In response to the needs of reform and considering the desires of students, we promptly organized a group of experienced frontline teachers to compile this "College English Speaking Course."
