Features: This book consists of 39 chapters, over 1.6 million words, and includes more than 360 illustrations and over 70 clinical case discussions, as well as 20 clinical pathology discussions. The first nine chapters focus on basic knowledge, in addition to clinical fundamentals such as neuroanatomy, diagnostic principles of neurological diseases, and the basics of neuroimaging diagnosis, the book also specially incorporates research methods and relevant theories in basic neuroscience, as well as some fundamental knowledge of neuropathology. This is mainly because, in the recent years of clinical teaching and postgraduate research guidance, we have found that familiarity with this knowledge not only helps in reading and understanding the latest literature on neurology but also broadens research perspectives, which may be particularly beneficial for clinical practitioners. The remaining 30 chapters primarily introduce diseases. In terms of content arrangement, they are organized for clinical application and ease of reference. Some are classified according to etiology, such as central nervous system infections, demyelinating and degenerative diseases; others are described based on clinical symptoms, such as dementia, sleep disorders, and seizure disorders. Additionally, chapters are divided according to the anatomical regions of the nervous system affected, such as cranial nerve diseases, extrapyramidal system diseases, and bone marrow and muscle diseases. Furthermore, common and frequently occurring diseases such as cerebral infarction, epilepsy, and alcoholism-related neurological damage are detailed in separate chapters due to their extensive content.
