Part I: The Theoretical Basis and Practical Foundation of Establishing a Socialist Market Economy System, consisting of four chapters, primarily elaborates on the theories of commodity economy from Marxism-Leninism, the continuous reform of the socialist economic system, the essence of socialism and the humanistic hypothesis, as well as the emergence and development of the theory of socialist market economy. Among these, the theory of the essence of socialism and the humanistic hypothesis serves as the main thread of the book. This is because, ultimately, the establishment of a socialist market economy system and its development are determined by the essence of socialism and the nature of human beings under socialist conditions. Starting from human needs and developing for the free and comprehensive development of individuals are the fundamental starting point and goal of the development of a socialist market economy.
Part II: The Basic Characteristics and Operational Mechanisms of the Socialist Market Economy, consisting of four chapters, primarily explains the connotative characteristics, operational laws, operational mechanisms, and operational rules of the socialist market economy. This is a study and exploration of some basic theoretical and practical issues of the socialist market economy. Establishing and improving the socialist market economy system requires a clear understanding of these fundamental issues.
Part III: The Establishment of the Socialist Market Economy System and China's Economic System Reform, consisting of seven chapters, primarily discusses the reforms carried out by China in establishing the socialist market economy system. The book elaborates on these issues, summarizing past reform experiences while also exploring ways to further deepen the reforms. Carefully summarizing China's reform experience over the past two decades and boldly exploring ideas and measures for further deepening the system reform are important prerequisites and guarantees for improving the socialist market economy system.
Part IV: The Development and Management of the Socialist Market Economy, consisting of six chapters, primarily discusses China's development strategy and goals for modernization, the adjustment and optimization of industrial structures, the path of a new type of industrialization and sustainable development, and the fundamental basis for the development of regional economies in the western development drive.
Part V: Economic Globalization and the Opening-up of the Socialist Market Economy, consisting of three chapters, primarily explains China's opening-up under economic globalization and the conditions of joining the WTO, as well as the development models and experience of foreign market economies for reference. The market economy is an open and competitive economy. Under economic globalization and the conditions of joining the WTO, this openness and competition are naturally global in nature. Therefore, continuously improving the level of opening-up should naturally become an important content that must be studied in the reform and development of the socialist market economy.
