Features: The academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering are the highest academic titles established by the state in the fields of science and technology and engineering. They hold honor and academic authority. Over the course of half a century of the People's Republic, this outstanding group of scientists has achieved remarkable accomplishments! For this reason, colleagues in the publishing and press industry have spared no effort over the decades to report and describe their patriotic spirit, national aspirations, and dedication to science. However, at the turn of the century, facing the dazzling achievements of modern technology, we deeply feel that the publishing industry still has an important task to fulfill—that is, not to be limited to promoting the spiritual qualities of scientists, but to delve deeper, examining the thinking characteristics and intellectual power that enabled outstanding Chinese scientists to achieve their goals. Let us bring the thinking methods—the source of the scientists' wisdom for innovation and creativity—out of the shadows. Thus, the idea of "Academician's Thinking," a topic proposal rooted in a new perspective, was born.
