Publishing Date: 2003-04-01
Features: Xu Linlu, from a young age, inherited his family's tradition of practicing calligraphy and painting. In middle age, he formed a lifelong friendship with Mr. Pu Xinyu in the art of calligraphy and painting. In 1945, after being introduced by his senior brother Li Kuchan, he formally became a disciple of Qi Baishi. Over the more than sixty years he dedicated to ink and brushwork, he studied the works of renowned masters from China's dynasties, absorbing the techniques of Shitao, Zhu Da, the Yangzhou Eight Masters, Zhao Ziqian, and Wu Changshuo. He also integrated folk art and Peking Opera art into his own paintings. Linlu advocates inheriting tradition while broadly learning from others and constantly innovating. Through arduous study and practice, he has developed his unique personal style. Rongbaozhai, despite his humble skills, published this art album. He sincerely hopes that readers at home and abroad will kindly point out any flaws for his improvement.
