In the 1980s, he became the chairman of a leasing company, which rapidly grew through projects in IT, printing, and industrial manufacturing. In the late 1980s, Chairman Alastair L. Dai sold the company to a listed public company. In 1990, Alastair L. Dai founded System Finance PLC, serving as an advisor and financial lessor for the computer and communications industry. He holds a degree in economics and German from the University of London and an MBA in business administration from the Open University Business School, where he also served as an associate lecturer in corporate finance.
