Features: This book is a continuation of the second edition, which won the "National Excellent Teaching Material Award" in 1988, and the third edition, which won the "Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award" in 1997. Due to the rapid development of boiler industry technology in recent years, the content of the second edition has become outdated. Additionally, with the rapid advancement of computing technology, it was decided to publish the third edition based on the development of boiler technology both domestically and internationally. In terms of content, the third edition includes the design and calculation of ultra-large capacity boilers, newly developed circulating fluidized bed combustion technology, pollution control of combustion, as well as relevant content and reference materials for supercritical parameter boilers. Furthermore, to accommodate the requirements of computer-based calculations and design, fitting formulas suitable for computer calculations have been added. The entire book has expanded from the second edition's seventeen chapters to the current edition's twenty-one chapters, divided into five parts. Part 1 covers basic knowledge of boilers; Part 2 discusses fuel combustion and combustion equipment; Part 3 focuses on heat transfer and heat transfer surface design of convective heating surfaces; Part 4 explores internal processes in the boiler; and Part 5 addresses other boiler-related issues. The seven appendices at the end of the book include comprehensive examples of boiler design and fitting formulas suitable for computer applications. This book can serve as a textbook or teaching reference for students majoring in thermal energy and power engineering, power engineering for thermal power plants, and boilers in higher education institutions. It can also be used as a reference for boiler designers and engineering technicians in thermal power plants.
