Features: Linguistics is a highly specialized science with a very broad scope and highly specialized knowledge. Therefore, it is not an easy task to systematically introduce the basic concepts and terminology of linguistics in a way that is both understandable and engaging. Since it is an introduction to basic knowledge, it can only cover a little bit of each of the main branches of linguistics, which means none of them will be comprehensive or in-depth. If readers develop an interest in any particular part, they should further explore relevant specialized books. While introducing generally accepted theories and knowledge, we also have our own perspectives, which are introduced with the phrase "We believe" for distinction. In an introductory book, combining theoretical and practical, foreign and Chinese content is still an attempt.
