Features: Learning to play these short pieces is an important part of the curriculum for violin students. Through these compositions, we can learn to sing, breathe, phrase, articulate, and master various light, connected, and passionate right-hand bowing techniques. We can also develop expressive left-hand vibrato, sliding fingers, shifting techniques, and flexible rhythmic variations. By engaging with music from different countries and regions through these pieces, we can greatly enrich our musical vocabulary and cultivate musicality. These pieces serve as excellent practice materials for daily study and also make for wonderful performance repertoire. This time, Mr. Goldhoff and I have selected and compiled fifty-five pieces, divided into four volumes: "Song of Spring," "Contemplation," "Joy of Love," and "Prayer Hymns."
Bow and finger technique are essential means of expressing music in violin performance. As an outstanding violinist, Mr. Goldhoff's bow and finger technique exhibits distinctive personal characteristics. His tone possesses the charm of a human voice, and his vibrato is filled with captivating passion. The four volumes of this collection are primarily composed based on the bow and finger techniques used by Mr. Goldhoff. However, to accommodate students with lower proficiency levels, some pieces also include alternative fingerings.
Each of the four volumes, in addition to the piano accompaniment scores and violin parts, comes with a CD recording of Mr. Goldhoff performing the violin parts. Several pieces in the collection are performed by his students Wu Zhengyu, Kana, Nefini, and Daniel.
