Features: This series is compiled by senior and advanced-level teachers from Beijing No. 4 High School and Huanggang High School, guided by the newly issued teaching syllabi for senior high school subjects by the Ministry of Education, and based on the People's Education Press textbooks and the current senior high school curriculum (the new textbooks for the 2005 cohort). It is designed for the "3+X" review preparation for the 2005 national college entrance examination.
Beijing No. 4 High School is a key high school in Beijing, with a 100% college admission rate in the college entrance examination every year. About 95% of its students meet the admission standards for national key universities, with approximately 40% admitted to Tsinghua University and Peking University. Huanggang High School is a provincial key high school in Hubei Province. Since the reform and opening-up, its college admission rate has been above 90% annually. Many of its students have won the titles of "provincial first-place winners" in both the humanities and science sections of the college entrance examination. Over 400 students have been recommended for further studies at prestigious institutions such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, and the University of Science and Technology of China. Its students consistently rank first in Hubei Province in mathematics, physics, and chemistry competitions, with more than 2,700 students winning provincial and above academic awards and over 900 winning national awards. They frequently take home gold medals in mathematics, physics, and chemistry olympiads.
This series adheres to the principle of "assessing knowledge while emphasizing the cultivation of abilities and qualities." It aims to help senior high school students integrate and master knowledge across disciplines, focusing on systematically grasping the core content and intrinsic connections of each subject, as well as developing methods for analyzing and solving problems. It also seeks to reflect the successful teaching and training experiences of Beijing No. 4 High School and Huanggang High School. Additionally, it strives to align the difficulty level of the questions with the requirements of senior high schools while reflecting the successful strategies of these schools in the college entrance examination. In summary, this series aims to match the difficulty level of the questions with the demands of the 2005 college entrance examination.
The series is characterized by the four principles of "new," "concise," "practical," and "comprehensive." "New" refers to staying true to the direction of college entrance examination reforms, creating innovative content based on the textbooks. "Concise" means the content is concise and scientifically rigorous, delivering high-quality material. "Practical" emphasizes ease of use and operation, selecting representative knowledge for in-depth analysis and explanation. "Comprehensive" means it covers all key points and accurately addresses hot topics in the college entrance examination.
The structure of the book is as follows:
1. Each chapter is divided into several lessons in order.
2. Before each lesson in a chapter, there is an "[Overview of Gaokao Questions and Trends]," and after each lesson, there is an "[Innovative and Interdisciplinary Questions]."
3. Each lesson in a chapter includes the following four sections:
- [Key Point Presentation] Includes a summary of key points and guidance on them.
- [Analysis and Explanation of Key Point Examples] Analyzes and explains typical questions for each key point, primarily using innovative questions created by Huanggang High School. These questions are novel, scientifically designed, and appropriately challenging. Solutions and comments are provided for some questions.
- [Summary of Thinking Methods] Summarizes the regular problem-solving methods, precautions, and knowledge methods for this key point.
- [Knowledge Method Ability Test] Includes innovative training questions created by Huanggang High School. These questions are divided into two categories: one examines basic knowledge and abilities, covering the key points of the lesson, and the other assesses comprehensive abilities, approaching or meeting the requirements of the college entrance examination.
4. At the end of each book, there are three mock college entrance examination papers for the subject.
