Features: This series of books is compiled by senior and advanced-level teachers from Beijing No. 4 High School and Huanggang High School, guided by the newly issued teaching syllabi for senior high school subjects by the Ministry of Education of China, and based on the People's Education Press textbooks and the current senior high school curriculum (textbooks for the 2005 cohort, i.e., the new curriculum). It is designed for the "3+X" review preparation for the 2005 national college entrance examination.
Beijing No. 4 High School is a key high school in Beijing, with a 100% college admission rate in the college entrance examination every year. Approximately 95% of its students reach the admission standards of national key universities, with about 40% of them entering Tsinghua University or Peking University. Huanggang High School is a provincial key high school in Hubei Province. Since the reform and opening-up, its college admission rate has been above 90% annually. Many of its students have won the titles of "provincial first prize" in both the humanities and science sections of the college entrance examination. Over 400 students have been recommended for further studies at renowned institutions such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, and the University of Science and Technology of China. Its students have consistently ranked first in Hubei Province in mathematics, physics, and chemistry competitions, with more than 2,700 students winning provincial and above academic awards and over 900 students receiving national awards. They have also frequently won gold medals in mathematics, physics, and chemistry olympiads.
This series of books adheres to the principle of "assessing knowledge while emphasizing the evaluation of abilities and qualities." It aims to help and guide senior high school students in integrating and mastering knowledge across various subjects, focusing on systematically grasping the core content and intrinsic connections of each subject, as well as on mastering the methods for analyzing and solving academic problems. It also strives to reflect the successful teaching and training experiences of Beijing No. 4 High School and Huanggang High School. At the same time, it seeks to balance the difficulty level of the questions to meet the requirements of senior high schools, ensuring that the difficulty of the questions aligns with the 2005 college entrance examination standards. In summary, this series of books aims to make the difficulty of the questions suitable for the 2005 college entrance examination requirements.
The series is characterized by the four principles of "new," "refined," "practical," and "comprehensive." "New" refers to closely following the direction of college entrance examination reforms, relying on textbooks, and creating innovative content. "Refined" means the content is concise, scientifically rigorous, and of high quality. "Practical" refers to ease of use and operation, with selected examples that are representative and highly practical. "Comprehensive" means it covers all key points and accurately addresses hot issues in the college entrance examination.
The format of the book is as follows:
1. Written in chapter order.
2. At the beginning of each chapter, there is an overview of college entrance examination questions and trends, and at the end of each chapter, there are innovative and interdisciplinary questions.
3. Each chapter is divided into four sections:
- Key Point Content Presentation: Comprising a key point outline and guidance.
- Summary of Ideological and Methodological Approaches: Summarizing the regular problem-solving methods and precautions for this key point.
- Key Point Example Analysis: Analyzing and explaining typical questions for each key point, primarily using innovative questions created by Beijing No. 4 High School. These questions are novel, scientifically designed, and appropriately challenging. Solutions and comments are provided for some questions.
- Knowledge, Method, and Ability Test: Mainly using innovative training questions created by Beijing No. 4 High School. These questions are divided into two categories based on the situation: one examines basic knowledge and abilities, covering the key points of the chapter, and the other examines questions that are close to or meet the requirements of the college entrance examination.
4. At the end of each book, there are two sets of mock college entrance examination papers for the subject, along with one set of mock comprehensive examination papers for liberal arts.
