Features: This series of books is compiled by senior and advanced-level teachers from Beijing No. 4 High School and Huanggang High School, guided by the newly issued teaching syllabi for senior high school subjects by the Ministry of Education, and based on the People's Education Press textbooks and the current senior high school curriculum (textbooks for the 2005 cohort, i.e., the new curriculum). It is designed for the "3+X" round of review and preparation for the 2005 National College Entrance Examination.
Beijing No. 4 High School is a key high school in Beijing, with a 100% college admission rate in the college entrance examination every year. Approximately 95% of its students meet the admission standards for national key universities, with about 40% of them admitted to Tsinghua University and Peking University. Huanggang High School is a provincial key high school in Hubei Province. Since the reform and opening-up, its college admission rate has been above 90% annually. Many of its students have won the titles of "provincial first prize" in both liberal arts and science subjects in the college entrance examination. Over 400 students have been recommended for further studies at prestigious institutions such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Science College. The performance of its students in mathematics, physics, and chemistry competitions has consistently ranked first in Hubei Province. A total of more than 2,700 students have won provincial and above academic competition awards, with over 900 winning national-level awards. They frequently take home gold medals in mathematics, physics, and chemistry Olympiads.
This series of books adheres to the principle of "assessing knowledge while emphasizing the evaluation of abilities and qualities." It aims to help and guide senior high school students in integrating and mastering the knowledge of various subjects. The focus is on systematically grasping the core content and internal connections of each subject, as well as mastering the methods for analyzing and solving academic problems. It also seeks to reflect the successful teaching and training experiences of Beijing No. 4 High School and Huanggang High School. At the same time, it strives to balance the difficulty level of the questions to meet the requirements of senior high schools. In summary, this series of books aims to align the difficulty level of the questions with the requirements of the 2005 college entrance examination.
The series is characterized by four key features: "new," "concise," "practical," and "comprehensive."
- "New" refers to closely following the direction of college entrance examination reforms, relying on textbooks, and creating innovative content.
- "Concise" means the content is concise and scientifically rigorous, aiming to produce high-quality materials.
- "Practical" refers to ease of use and operation, selecting representative knowledge for in-depth analysis and explanation, making it highly practical.
- "Comprehensive" means it must cover all key points and accurately address hot topics in the college entrance examination.
The format of the book is as follows:
1. Each chapter is divided into several lessons in order.
2. Before each lesson in a chapter, there is a "Overview of Gaokao Questions and Propensity for Examination Trends." Except for the introduction and chapter, there is an "Innovative and Interdisciplinary Questions" at the end of each chapter.
3. Each lesson in a chapter is divided into four sections:
- "Key Point Content Presentation" consists of key point requirements and guidance.
- "Key Point Example Analysis" analyzes and explains typical questions for each key point, primarily using innovative questions self-composed by Huanggang High School. These questions are novel, scientific, and appropriately challenging. Solutions and comments are provided for some questions.
- "Summary of Ideological and Methodological Approaches" summarizes the regular problem-solving methods and precautions for this key point.
- "Knowledge, Method, and Ability Test" mainly includes innovative training questions self-composed by Huanggang High School. These training questions are divided into two types based on specific situations: one type examines basic knowledge and abilities, covering the key points of the lesson; the other type assesses comprehensive abilities, approaching or meeting the requirements of the college entrance examination.
4. At the end of each book, there are two sets of mock college entrance examination questions for the subject, as well as one set of mock questions for the comprehensive science college entrance examination.
