Over the course of more than four years, Dr. Newton contributed to the "Daily Life" column of the Philadelphia Inquirer. During this time, he received countless letters from readers—some expressing their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Newton, while the majority shared their struggles, confusions, and real-life problems. Dr. Newton continuously read these letters, tirelessly helping readers navigate the challenges of life. Among them, four issues lingered in his mind.
First Issue: Loneliness. The feeling of loneliness does not stem from isolation or exclusion but from self-imposed barriers.
Second Issue: Fear. The greatest killer of the human spirit is not guilt or sorrow but fear.
Third Issue: Worry. This kind of worry leaves us exhausted and makes us anxious even before tomorrow arrives.
Fourth Issue: Childhood Hurts and Humiliation. Therefore, we must treat children kindly and avoid leaving scars on their hearts.
Dr. Newton's daily column primarily addressed these four issues, opening a window to the readers' hearts, helping them step out of themselves, focus on the ideal, overcome fear, fill their lives with love, discard harm, do good, share more, desire less, and give more.
