Features: Preface With the continuous deepening of educational reform, the teaching reform of physical education in higher education institutions is also moving towards the direction of scientificization, institutionalization, and standardization. In order to comprehensively promote quality-oriented education and implement the spirit of the Third National Education Conference, reflecting the guiding principle of "school education, health ," and fulfilling the "National General Higher Education Physical Education Curriculum Teaching Guidance Outline," we have decided to compile the book "University Physical Education Tutorial" to meet the needs of social development and educational reform. Based on the spirit of the "National General Higher Education Physical Education Curriculum Teaching Guidance Outline" from the Ministry of Education, the traditional curriculum content is reconstructed according to modern educational theories and the new developments in physical education courses. This book primarily embodies the following distinct features:
1. Contemporary Relevance. The book highlights the guiding principle of lifelong benefits in school physical education and emphasizes the establishment of a healthy concept.
2. Readability. Grounded in scientific research facts, the book avoids general theoretical descriptions and empty preaching. After studying this book, students will find its explanations and analyses logical and well-supported by evidence.
3. Innovation. The book incorporates many advanced theories and methods in physical education, providing a deeper understanding of the relationship between physical activity and health.
4. Practicality. The book places special emphasis on linking theory with practice. It teaches students how to design personalized exercise prescriptions to achieve optimal exercise results and how to adopt a rational and scientific diet.
The main content of the book includes: self-evaluation of physical fitness for university students, university physical education and health courses, selection of sports techniques, selection of recreational sports, selection of leisure sports, and sports competitions and appreciation. This book can be used as a textbook for university students in China and also as a reference for readers in other fields. The book is edited by Liu Zhongwu, Professor and Director of the Physical Education College at Harbin Normal University, who serves as the Vice Chairman of the National Higher Education Physical Education Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education. The contributors to the book are: Liu Zhongwu (Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 7, Chapter 8, Appendix), Liu Yingbin (Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6, Chapter 9), Xue Chunlin (Chapter 10, Chapter 11, Chapter 13, Chapter 15), and Tang Xingning (Chapter 12, Chapter 14, Chapter 16, Chapter 17). The entire book is reviewed by Sun Qilin, Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Head of the Public Physical Education Group of the National Higher Education Physical Education Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education. Due to the limitations of the authors, there may be shortcomings in the book, and we sincerely welcome criticism and suggestions from experts and readers.
