Features: The survival status and future development of contemporary children have become a key theme of new progress in this century. Understanding the world of children and addressing their diverse needs throughout their growth process to truly "put children first" is not only crucial for their personal development but also for the overall progress of future society. Currently, the economic development and changes worldwide have injected vitality into societal progress while also providing children with broad choices for their own development. However, it must be acknowledged that the profound shifts in the global political and economic landscape, while presenting opportunities for children's growth, have also brought new challenges and issues that demand attention. Therefore, on November 20, 2003, the Shanghai Federation of Women, the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and the Modern Family magazine jointly organized the International Forum on "Children's Development and Social Responsibility" and "For the Children," aiming to advocate public opinion, integrate social forces, and collectively advance children's development. This collection of essays is composed of 34 selected outstanding papers from the forum's 52 submitted conference papers. These essays elaborate on and explore topics such as children's development and the social environment, children's development and community guidance, children's development and school education, children's development and family education, children's development and psychological intervention, and children's development and rights protection, proposing countermeasures and recommendations. They can serve as a basis for the formulation of government policies on children's social issues. This library aims to provide theoretical research outcomes for China's transformative practices, thereby promoting the development of social science disciplines. The scope of these achievements can be quite broad but generally falls into three categories: (1) introductory research findings, which introduce theories and existing research findings related to transition, transition, and transformation; (2) documentary research findings, which provide a scientific description of changes in various aspects of socioeconomic life during the transition, transition, and transformation process; (3) exploratory research findings, which offer theoretical analysis and innovative research outcomes on China's transition, transition, and transformation phenomena. The materials for this library come from various social dimensions such as population, society, politics, law, economy, morality, and religion during the transition and transition process. The research primarily concerns structural changes, organizational reconstruction, family and life cycles, the development of human phenomena, social issues, and social policies, among other aspects.
