Features: Idioms are the most stable elements in language. Due to their brevity and conciseness, they have long been favored by people. However, in recent years, the practice of arbitrarily altering idioms has become rampant, especially in some media advertisements, where modifying idioms seems to have become a trend. This phenomenon not only disrupts the original stability of idioms, causing their original precision and depth to be lost, but also changes their original meanings, severely leading to misunderstandings of idiomatic usage among the younger generation. To help middle school students correctly understand the meanings of common idioms and standardize their usage, a group of experienced teachers and renowned educational researchers from Chinese universities with expertise in language and practical application were invited to jointly compile this "Guide to the Usage of Common Idioms for Middle School Students." The idioms selected for this book are mostly from currently used junior and senior high school Chinese textbooks. The arrangement follows the common dictionary format, organized in alphabetical order, with pinyin provided for each idiom to facilitate readers' reference and pronunciation. Under each entry, there is a description or story related to the idiom to help readers understand its meaning correctly. In terms of usage, examples are provided to illustrate how idioms are used in sentences, based on their positions in sentences, to help readers use them properly.
