Features: The Primary Chinese Listening consists of 55 lessons, with every 10 lessons forming a unit. Each unit is followed by a unit test, making the book a total of 5 units. Each lesson is divided into two parts: text and choosing the correct answer. The first unit focuses on training students' Chinese pinyin, pronunciation, and intonation. From the second to the fourth unit, each lesson includes three listening texts, with the first two primarily in dialogue form and the last one in narrative form. The "choosing the correct answer" section references the first two parts of the HSK listening exam in its question format, with 10 practice questions after each lesson. The fifth unit increases the length and difficulty of the texts. The text section is changed to two listening texts, mostly in narrative form. The "choosing the correct answer" section is expanded to 15 practice questions. The text exercises mainly involve true-or-false judgment, multiple-choice questions, and answering questions, supplemented with other forms to achieve a balance between consistency and variety, avoiding monotony for the students. The unit tests reinforce and review the content of the unit, divided into three parts. The first two parts simulate the first two parts of the HSK listening exam in their question format, assessing students' mastery of the unit's content. The third part is a recording of corresponding difficulty with its exercises, primarily training students' comprehensive listening comprehension skills. To help students combine classroom language with real-life language, the recordings in this book are at normal conversational speed. Students who complete this book should be able to understand ordinary daily conversations of Chinese people and express themselves in Chinese with greater fluency and accuracy.
