Selected Poems of Qing Dynasty: An Anthology with Annotations by Renowned Scholars

Author: Zhu Zejie
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-01-01
Features: This is a selection of Qing Dynasty poetry. In recent years, there have been quite a few such anthologies published. However, unlike other dynasties, the number of Tang and Song Dynasty poems is limited, and they have been studied and popularized for thousands of years. The outstanding works are mostly well-known, so the selected poems and authors in different anthologies are largely similar, with little controversy. In contrast, as mentioned above, Qing Dynasty poetry is not only vast in scope but also currently in the process of initial exploration, making it highly adaptable. Therefore, there can be significant differences in the selection and arrangement of authors and works among various anthologies. The works selected in this book are mostly based on the original collections of the authors, but some are also compiled from multiple versions, choosing the best ones. According to the format of the anthology, the book does not provide annotations for version differences and has adjusted the order of the works based on the needs of the text. Therefore, readers are especially advised to pay attention when researching and citing.
