Features: The key design elements in home decoration are the main walls and ceilings of each room. Their style determines the overall ambiance of the space, a crucial concern for consumers, users, and designers alike. After extensive market application and consumer psychology surveys, this book identifies the key points of consumer demand and offers practical design teaching. The design works reflect the needs of people from all walks of life. It does not focus on furnishings but emphasizes hard—the main walls, showcasing countless forms of beauty to people, which is truly valuable. The focus of home decoration design is the art of ceiling and background wall design, deeply rooted in modern composition art. Simple symbols, minimal embellishments, and simplified craftsmanship, combined with the effects and warm/cold differences of lighting, can make walls full of charm.
Home Decoration Design is an "illustrated dictionary" that collects the creative wisdom of numerous designers and encompasses a wide range of forms. It is rich in images, highly referenceable and adaptable, covering various usage spaces in homes, making it an extremely practical "dictionary-style" tool book. Home Decoration Design is provided to design companies, consumers, and students studying this field. It is not only a model of beauty but also enables learners and designers to study the laws of its composition, inspiring people to discover beauty, cultivate a sense of beauty, and gain wisdom. Here, beauty has no standards, no intentions, and no end—it is only the artistic path leading to the soul of nature.
We are accustomed to thinking and learning based on the apparent forms of nature and artificial classifications. We observe nature and understand the world. Why must we insist on using known, seemingly reliable experiences and things as references? How can we use abstract thinking and human emotions to engage with nature? Why do we emphasize our individuality while neglecting the universality of natural laws? When will we awaken and regard the pursuit of cosmic harmony, balance, and order as a lifelong mission to practice? Why don’t we possess the talent of Pythagoras or Leonardo da Vinci to discover the order of nature from chaotic appearances? Why must we stubbornly cling to our own views without seeking?
When I teach students the laws that turn ordinary into extraordinary and the perspective to observe and appreciate beauty, their minds are enlightened, and the sky clears, allowing them to roam freely. As a result, in just four weeks of teaching, each student can produce over 30 design proposals. All these laws are in the book: "Painting serves as the expression of the law, and the law is the principle of painting." Whether in design art or pure art, how to grasp the essence has always been the theme of my teaching.
