Features: The 21st century will be the century of the ocean. Facing the call of the oceanic century, the desire for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has never been stronger than today, and the connection with the ocean has never been closer. Engels once said that maritime affairs are fundamentally incompatible with feudalism. Sun Yat-sen, a pioneer of the democratic revolution, pointed out that with the changing trends of the world, the strength or weakness of a nation often lies at sea rather than on land. Those who dominate on land often hold superior national strength. The ocean not only records a long history but also creates unique culture. With the footsteps of the new oceanic century, we have organized numerous experts and scholars, spent three years in editing and publishing this large series of books. The content includes not only maritime military knowledge but also oceanic political and economic knowledge; not only introductions to oceanic geography but also interesting stories about oceanic exploration, myths, and legends; it introduces both the history and future of the ocean and showcases the current status and development of world navies. We believe that the publication of this series of books will play a positive role in promoting the development of China's oceanic culture, enhancing the oceanic awareness and coastal defense awareness of the entire nation, and inspiring a broad range of naval officers and young people to dedicate themselves to the great cause of loving the ocean, building the ocean, and defending the ocean.
