Features: Sketching is the foundation of learning painting, an important component of art education, and also the main content of entrance exams for art academies. Sketching is the process of depicting objects using a single color. Through training in (plaster cast) sketching, many problems in painting can be resolved. The expressive methods of sketching are very diverse, and based on different disciplines, they can be categorized as creative sketching, chiaroscuro sketching, design sketching, structural sketching, realistic sketching, etc. In professional sketching exams, it is generally required to use realistic techniques and chiaroscuro sketching methods. Two types of lighting are typically used during exams: 1. Lighting work; 2. Natural light work. The advantages of natural light are its softness, which allows the colors, structures, and subtle variations on objects to be clearly presented without being affected by other factors. This makes it easier to express the form, structure, space, and other elements of objects, especially suitable for realistic sketching techniques and research. When compiling this book, the author considered the needs of exams, with teaching steps and work selections primarily based on realism and full-factor chiaroscuro sketching. Due to the limited exam time (usually three hours), this expressive method can effectively assess students' (modeling skills) and their understanding of sketching elements, as well as being the easiest way to achieve results. It is hoped that this book will be helpful to all candidates.
