Features: This book serves as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students in automation, as well as a reference for engineering technicians and technical personnel in the field of industrial production process control and design departments. It can also be used as a teaching material for faculty and students in related disciplines. The book discusses the structure, principles, characteristics, applicable scenarios, system analysis, and applications of process control systems, integrating them with process equipment and the application of control systems in industrial production processes. The accompanying CD-ROM provides CAI teaching materials, which can be used for online education or self-study by students. The book is divided into nine chapters, organized into three parts: control structure, industrial process equipment, and industrial production processes.
Part of the content involves the analysis and mutual influence of the various components of simple control systems; common complex control systems such as cascade control, uniform control, ratio control, feedforward control, split-range control, selective control, dual control, and model-based control systems; and advanced control systems based on modern control theory, including state feedback, predictive control, decoupling control, soft measurement and inferential control, adaptive and robust control, time delay compensation control, intelligent control, supervisory control, fault detection, diagnosis, and tolerance control, as well as integrated automation.
The second part focuses on industrial process equipment as the main thread, analyzing and discussing the control of different types of industrial equipment, including fluid transport equipment, heat transfer equipment, boiler equipment, distillation columns, and chemical reactor equipment.
The third part is classified by industrial production processes, analyzing and discussing the control of various industrial production processes, such as the synthesis of ammonia, batch processes, atmospheric and vacuum distillation processes, catalytic cracking processes, ethylene processes, polymerization processes, bioreactor processes, pulp and papermaking processes, and metallurgical processes. For specific industrial production processes, their characteristics are analyzed, and corresponding control solutions are proposed.
