(1) According to the teaching syllabus, the analysis of polyphonic music forms and works, as well as the analysis of entire operas, are conducted in separate courses on polyphonic music and opera studies, and are not included in the scope of this textbook.
(2) The examples of scores and works analyzed in this textbook are selected not only based on the needs of the course content but also considering the general requirements for teaching materials such as scores, recordings, and other resources. In the selection of works from China, some limitations are also due to these conditions, and not all selected works may be representative. Therefore, when using this textbook, instructors may appropriately add, reduce, or replace the examples of scores and analyzed works cited in the textbook.
(3) This textbook is intended solely for classroom instruction. Assignments and discussion pieces for students may be selected by instructors based on specific circumstances.
