Features: As the main channel for cultivating high-level, comprehensive, and practical legal talents, the professional degree graduate education for Legal Masters has increasingly attracted the attention of candidates and the public. In 2003, the total number of applicants from the 28 training institutions across the country exceeded 37,000. In September 2003, the Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Commission approved 11 universities—Guilin University of Foreign Studies, Hainan University, Henan University, Hunan University, Nanjing Normal University, the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Yantai University, the Chinese People's Public Security University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Southwest University of Finance and Economics—as new training institutions for Legal Masters, bringing the total number of national Legal Master training institutions to 39. In October 2003, the Higher Education Student Department of the Ministry of Education and the Education Examination Center decided and completed the compilation of the "2004 National Unified Examination Syllabus for Legal Master Professional Degree Graduate Admission." Under the new circumstances of the continuous expansion of the number of candidates for Legal Master programs, the increase in training institutions, and the further standardization of enrollment and examination affairs, to provide candidates with high-quality preparation guidance and services, the National Advisory Committee for Legal Master Professional Degree Graduate Education organized experts to revise the "Legal Master Professional Degree Graduate Unified Examination Guide (Fifth Edition)" according to the objectives and content requirements of the new syllabus.
