Features: The value of a drug lies in its efficacy, and one of the key measures to ensure drug efficacy is the establishment of drug quality standards. The current quality control standards for identifying the authenticity of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) are ineffective due to their lack of close correlation with efficacy, leading to unstable and uncertain clinical effects of TCM. Reforming the existing TCM quality standards and establishing a scientific modern TCM quality standard system that reflects the characteristics of TCM efficacy has become an urgent strategic task in the fields of TCM education, research, and production. The essence of a drug is a chemical substance with therapeutic properties, and TCM is no exception. To ensure the stability and certainty of TCM efficacy, it is necessary to conduct qualitative and quantitative detection of the therapeutic chemical substances in TCM based on identifying its authenticity and formulate standards, known as the "TCM efficacy quality standard." With a TCM efficacy quality standard that accurately reflects the characteristics of TCM efficacy, quality control can be objectively performed during the production, circulation, and use of TCM, thereby ensuring the controllability, reproducibility, and stability of its efficacy.
