Features: Political Confucianism refers to the Confucianism centered on the Spring and Autumn Annals of Gongyang School in the Han Dynasty, which is concerned with the construction of institutions. Unlike New Confucianism, which largely aims at "Xin-xing Confucianism" (Heart-Mind Confucianism), the authors, based on a comprehensive understanding of Confucianism, have opened up a new research direction for Confucian studies. Their fundamental concern lies in the in-depth study of Chinese history and culture, the re-examination of China's unique national conditions distinct from the West, and the dedication to uncovering the rich intellectual resources in political Confucianism that resonate with modernization, thereby providing a basis for China's political institutional construction. This line of thinking inherits the tradition of Jin-wen classics studies by Gong Zizhen, Wei Yuan, and Kang Youwei during the late Qing Dynasty. The series of views proposed by the authors are eye-opening and prompt deeper reflection. The main purpose of this book is to emphasize "Political Confucianism," which, relative to "Xin-xing Confucianism," refers to the political wisdom of the Confucian tradition. From the perspective of classical Chinese political thought, the book conducts an in-depth critique and analysis of contemporary New Confucianism, the theory of complete Westernization, and liberal political ideas. This type of research is currently still a blank in China. The authors' analyses and critiques are meticulous, with arguments that others have not yet raised, demonstrating that they have spent years contemplating this topic and have developed unique insights. Therefore, many of the arguments in this book are meaningful and valuable, and its inclusion in this series for publication is expected to spark further discussion and research.
