Features: This tutorial is more suitable for children over five years old and primary school students. Following the principle of gradual progression and starting from the basics, I have strived for clarity and simplicity in the writing process. The arrangement of practice pieces also makes extensive use of melodies familiar to children and songs learned at school as accompaniment, which I believe will enhance their learning interest. This tutorial is divided into four parts:
Part 1: Textual Overview: Introduces the erhu and related knowledge to children through text and charts.
Part 2: Basic Training: Includes exercises for common tuning positions and single techniques, as well as introductory shifting exercises.
Part 3: Advanced Improvement: For children who have mastered basic knowledge and playing techniques, to further improve their performance level, it is necessary to appropriately increase the difficulty of training. Therefore, the practice pieces in this part are strengthened in both technique and requirements.
Part 4: Musical Application: To help children and students understand the essence of musical works and improve their overall erhu performance level, I have selected some intermediate and advanced erhu examination pieces. Each piece is accompanied by a concise analysis, including the handling of performance difficulties, to assist them in achieving outstanding results in erhu examinations.
Children's music education is a comprehensive discipline that requires both rigor and alignment with children's psychological characteristics.
