Features: The existence of German songs dates back to before the 15th century, but German Lieder as a special art form emerged in the late 18th century as a product of the Romantic movement. Some early songs in this book may predate this era, but they are included in this collection due to their artistic value.
Notes:
1. Due to the significant differences between Chinese and foreign grammars, understanding the meaning of each character often does not fully convey the meaning of the entire sentence. Therefore, the translation is explained in two lines: the first line indicates the meaning of each foreign word, and the second line in parentheses presents the actual content of the lyric. This format helps singers grasp both the meaning of individual words and the overall lyric while performing.
2. Brackets [ ] indicate articles, pronouns, conjunctions, and other emphasis words commonly used in foreign languages but often omitted in Chinese.
3. The arrangement of the table of contents follows this method:
- First item: The initial letter of the composer's last name in the original text.
- Second item: The initial letter of the original song or suite title.
- For suites, the original order is maintained.
