Features: My goal has always been to linger in that passionate era, where the innocence, romance, sincerity, deep love, unrestrainedness, and even hardships of youth are things I yearn for but can never attain. Because we are entangled in too many real-life troubles, we sometimes forget our true nature. Troubles all stem from desires. Compared to my own era, the desires of the 1990s were simply overwhelming, leaving people feeling endlessly lost spiritually. My weapon against this loss is to imbue the characters in my stories with humanistic emotions. Their mistakes, too, become beautiful through their innocence! This book selects five of Hai Yan's middle-length stories. The motivation behind writing this book was often merely to soothe, console, stabilize, and purify my soul, a need for my spiritual life. The ordinary, worldly stories collected here are not a simple reproduction or imitation of the objective world, but rather more about the author's reflection, interpretation, and hope for this world, filled with strong subjective emotions. I hope that the life and emotions in my heart can be understood and affirmed by more people.
