Features: This year marks the 10th anniversary of the promulgation of the Labor Law of the People's Republic of China. These ten years have been a period of rapid advancement in China's legal system construction, during which a large number of laws and regulations were formulated or revised. Meanwhile, major national policies and guidelines related to labor protection were continuously introduced. The medical reform led to the preliminary formation of the medical insurance system, the gradual abolition of the retirement system made old-age insurance a matter of concern for everyone, and the increasing social competition provided basic living security for some through unemployment insurance. It can be said that China's social security system is gradually improving, yet it remains in an imperfect state. This situation has led more people to seek legal protection to safeguard their rights. To provide a powerful tool for the still-disadvantaged general public to exercise their rights, we compiled and published the "Legal and Life Series" of Labor Self-Help Manuals, which includes five sub-series covering all aspects of labor life. These are: Supervision of Social Insurance · Work-related Injury · Medical Insurance, Old-Age · Unemployment · Maternity Insurance, Working Hours · Rest Time · Labor Disputes, Labor Contracts · Labor Employment, and Labor Safety · Labor Protection · Prevention and Treatment of Occupational Diseases. Each sub-series not only includes relevant laws, administrative regulations, departmental rules, and other regulatory documents but also collects some typical cases issued by the Supreme People's Court or local courts on related topics, enhancing the practicality of the series as a legal reference.
At the same time, to better suit non-professional readers, we provide Q&A sections before important laws, administrative regulations, and departmental rules to guide and help readers quickly identify the key points of the regulations, enabling them to resolve practical issues more efficiently. We also add annotations to relevant terms in the regulations to assist general readers in understanding and applying the laws. We hope that our product can serve as a reliable self-help tool for you, a common laborer, when encountering related difficulties.
