As for the scope of data collection, most of it is from novels and essays, with a small part from other materials such as poetry, speeches, and pop songs. Third, this book analyzes 23 commonly used rhetorical devices, with an equal number of examples for English-to-Chinese and Chinese-to-English translation. Each example first lists the original sentence, followed by its translation, with discussions in between. Even without a teacher's assistance, readers can read this book independently.
