Features: The implementation of quality education not only requires us to change our educational concepts but also necessitates reforms in the current textbooks and various teaching aids. Reducing students' academic workload does not mean eliminating homework or exercises. Practice has proven that timely and moderate training and assessments are crucial for improving teaching quality: training reinforces, enhances, and develops knowledge and skills, while assessments measure academic competence. To implement the spirit of the teaching syllabus, improve classroom teaching quality, and strengthen the cultivation of basic skills and innovative abilities, we have compiled this "One Lesson, Three Drills" series based on the new geography textbooks for each grade published by the People's Education Press. "One Lesson, Three Drills" is divided into three levels: basic exercises, comprehensive exercises, and extended exercises. Basic exercises cater to the fundamental requirements of students learning geography and mastering geographical skills, serving as the foundation for deepening geographical knowledge and strengthening ability development. Comprehensive exercises deepen students' understanding of the significance of the geography discipline and cultivate their ability to analyze and solve problems. Extended exercises broaden students' knowledge base and enhance their skills in retrieving, organizing geographical materials, and enriching geographical information. In addition to the "Three Drills," this series includes two sets of assessment questions and reference answers for teachers and students to use for evaluation. This series has the following five main features:
1. Training is based on the requirements of the teaching syllabus and follows the teaching schedule.
2. Training content is targeted and aligns with the knowledge learned, both testing students' foundational knowledge and assessing their ability to analyze and solve problems.
3. Training covers all major parts of geography teaching, with appropriate cross-references, integration, and comparisons of certain knowledge.
4. Training methods and question types are diverse, including multiple-choice, true/false, short-answer questions, calculation problems, and content related to practical applications and interdisciplinary learning.
5. The difficulty level of the questions is appropriately designed with clear differentiation, making it suitable for teachers and students in various secondary schools.
This series was compiled by excellent teachers and curriculum developers from Haidian, Dongcheng, Xicheng districts in Beijing, and Shenyang who participated in the trial of the new People's Education Press textbooks and have in-depth research on the new textbooks and the national and regional exams.
