Features: The "Yunnan Religious Situation Report" has been well-received by various sectors of society, at least reflecting the need for such research outcomes. This is because the religious situation reports in the form of bluebooks disclose information through mainstream channels, possessing legality, authority, and authenticity, making them highly practical reference materials for departments across society and readers at all levels. The "Yunnan Religious Situation Report" is an annual report on regional religious situations published in the form of a bluebook, a pioneering effort in China. The 2003 edition of the "Yunnan Religious Situation Report" saw significant improvements over the 2002 edition, primarily in two aspects: First, the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences' Institute of Religious Studies collaborated with the Yunnan Provincial Religious Affairs Bureau in compiling the report. The editorial committee conducted thorough and meticulous discussions on the main content, each topic, and key issues, ultimately determining the articles and authors for each section. As a result, the report's content is highly realistic, with rich and substantial material in each article, making it valuable for readers. Second, the collaboration between the two organizations leveraged their respective professional strengths, undoubtedly playing a crucial role in enhancing the quality of the outcome. Due to the special requirements of religious situation reports, guidance and participation from government religious affairs departments are necessary to ensure adherence to religious policies and guidelines. Meanwhile, religious theorists analyze and study religious phenomena, issues, and trends from the perspective of religious studies to draw scientific conclusions. This report strives to integrate theory with practice, highlighting its scientific rigor and timeliness. It aims to provide the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the CPC and the Provincial People's Government, as well as relevant departments, with information and materials to understand the religious situation and characteristics in Yunnan, as well as international religious dynamics. This is intended to facilitate effective religious work in Yunnan, thereby contributing to the stability of the frontier society, ethnic unity, and comprehensive social progress in the province.
