Features: To enable candidates to stay updated with changes in the examination syllabus and prepare effectively for the postgraduate entrance examination of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, we printed a small internal booklet in June 2002. It includes the new examination syllabus, sample questions and answers, the format of answer sheets, and the marking criteria for translation and writing. It also contains a working vocabulary list. This list is a comprehensive compilation of words from four major syllabi: the "Teaching Syllabus for Master's/Doctoral Degree Postgraduate English," the "Vocabulary List for College English Teaching Syllabus," the "2001 National Postgraduate Entrance Examination English Syllabus (Non-English Majors)," and the "National Unified Examination Syllabus for English Proficiency of Applying for Master's Degrees (Second Edition)." After review and approval by the academic committee of the School of Foreign Languages, it has been recognized as the primary reference for the vocabulary coverage of English examination questions for the postgraduate entrance examination of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the future.
