Features: The 2005 MBA Joint Entrance Exam made significant adjustments to the exam structure. The preliminary exam subjects were changed from the previous four (Politics, English, Comprehensive Ability, Management) to two (English, Comprehensive Ability Exam). Based on content integration, the Comprehensive Ability Exam emphasized the nature of aptitude testing. The part of the original Management subject that assessed candidates' comprehensive analytical abilities was incorporated into the Comprehensive Ability Exam. The Politics course exam was conducted during the second round of interviews. It should be noted that reducing the number of preliminary exam subjects does not mean lowering the admission threshold. Instead, it adjusts the exam structure in response to the characteristics of MBA applicants and enrollment requirements, reducing written exam subjects while strengthening the interview. The goal is to select outstanding candidates with strong basic qualities, comprehensive abilities, and management potential. The exam time for each written subject in the 2005 MBA Joint Entrance Exam was 3 hours. The foreign language exam had a maximum score of 100, and the Comprehensive Ability Exam had a maximum score of 200. The foreign language (English) exam used the MBA Joint Entrance Exam paper. Candidates who chose to take Japanese or Russian instead of English in the foreign language exam used the National Unified Entrance Exam for Master's Degree Candidates paper. Other language subjects were independently set by the examining institutions. The "GRK exam" held in the autumn for working professionals pursuing MBA degrees was organized by the National Center for Graduate Education Development to set the English exam in the written exam subjects. The MBA Joint Entrance Exam English exam included an aural-oral ability test. The aural-oral ability test consists of two parts: the listening test was conducted during the preliminary exam, and the speaking test was conducted during the second round of interviews. The listening test lasted 30 minutes, and the written exam lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes. The listening test score accounted for 20% of the total English preliminary exam score, while the written exam score accounted for 80% of the total preliminary exam score. The listening test score was included in the candidate's total score. The Comprehensive Ability Exam primarily tests candidates' basic mathematical knowledge required for MBA courses, their ability to use mathematical methods to analyze and solve problems, logical reasoning skills, and Chinese language proficiency. The Comprehensive Ability Exam includes four types of questions: problem-solving, sufficiency of conditions judgment, logical reasoning, and writing, primarily assessing candidates' necessary knowledge base for MBA courses and their ability to apply relevant knowledge to analyze and solve practical problems. The problem-solving and sufficiency of conditions judgment questions in the Comprehensive Ability Exam involve elementary mathematics, calculus, linear algebra, and probability theory, but they differ from typical mathematics exams. To reduce candidates' preparation workload and benefit working professionals with heavier workloads, the Comprehensive Ability Exam syllabus does not require a systematic review of mathematical knowledge but selects several essential knowledge points for assessment.
