Features: Gastrointestinal imaging consists of gastrointestinal imaging and hepatobiliary pancreas imaging. Gastrointestinal imaging is its fundamental and primary component. In recent years, hepatobiliary pancreas imaging has developed rapidly and is rich in content, warranting its inclusion as a separate volume. Therefore, this volume primarily focuses on gastrointestinal imaging as the main content of gastrointestinal imaging, which is an inevitable trend in the development of medical imaging. Gastrointestinal imaging is composed of gastrointestinal imaging diagnosis and gastrointestinal interventional therapy. The gastrointestinal imaging diagnosis section includes plain film diagnosis, barium contrast diagnosis, CT diagnosis, MR diagnosis, DR diagnosis, endoscopic ultrasound diagnosis, etc. The gastrointestinal interventional therapy section includes vascular interventional therapy and non-vascular interventional therapy. Among various gastrointestinal imaging diagnostic techniques, barium contrast examination remains one of the fundamental methods for diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases. Barium contrast can be divided into single-contrast and double-contrast techniques. Double-contrast examination has always been the core of gastrointestinal imaging, as it not only clearly displays the fine structure of the mucosal surface but also enables early diagnosis of gastrointestinal diseases, making it highly valuable for diagnosing gastrointestinal conditions. Strengthening and emphasizing double-contrast examination remains a top priority in current gastrointestinal imaging techniques, with other imaging diagnostic techniques serving as important supplementary methods. How to reasonably and economically utilize various imaging diagnostic techniques in gastrointestinal imaging remains a key issue worthy of attention. This book is composed of general chapters and specific chapters. The general chapters primarily introduce gastrointestinal imaging techniques, barium contrast principles and signs, as well as normal and abnormal gastrointestinal imaging findings. The specific chapters elaborate on and compare the comprehensive imaging manifestations of various diseases from different anatomical regions, including the pharynx, esophagus, stomach and duodenum, small intestine, colon, and rectum. It is a systematic work that provides a comprehensive introduction to gastrointestinal imaging. Since "Chinese Radiology" is a series of works, gastrointestinal interventional therapy and pediatric gastrointestinal imaging are detailed in separate volumes. With the support of the chief editors, Professor Wu Enhui, Assistant Chief Editor Professor He Nengshu, Professor Bai Renju, and Professor Zhang Yunting, and with the active help of experts in gastrointestinal imaging nationwide, this book was successfully completed. After the initial draft was formed, Professor Shen Mouji of Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Second Medical University, Professor Jiang Hao of Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Second Medical University, and Professor Cheng Yongde of the 85 Hospital of the People's Liberation Army provided a meticulous preliminary review and offered valuable suggestions. The entire manuscript was meticulously compiled, edited, formatted, and proofread by Dr. Cheng Yingsheng of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, for which we express our heartfelt gratitude. In the production of the images, Technician Zheng Zurong of the Photography Department of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital provided significant assistance, and we extend our sincere thanks to him as well. Due to the urgency of time and limited expertise, this book is bound to contain shortcomings and errors. We sincerely hope that relevant experts and readers will kindly point out any mistakes or offer corrections. Shang Kezhong January 2002
