Features: Mao Zedong was a great proletarian revolutionary and also a knowledgeable scholar. He was passionate about reading and collecting books throughout his life. He read Chinese classical texts, not only enjoying historical works but also loving classical literature, particularly ancient poetry and prose. In his busy schedule, he read and commented on poetry, starting from the ancient anthology The Book of Songs and extending to various poetic forms, ci poems, qu verses, and fu prose throughout history. Mao Zedong meticulously annotated and highlighted the brilliant lines. The published facsimile edition Selected Poems, Ci, Qu, and Fu Annotated by Mao Zedong is a collection of these outstanding works. The poems, ci poems, and qu verses in Selected Poems, Ci, Qu, and Fu Annotated by Mao Zedong are three volumes from Mao Zedong's personal collection at the Central Archives Organization: the Annotated Three Hundred Poems of Tang Dynasty published by Zhonghua Book Company, the Ci Poems of Famous Writers in the Past Three Centuries published by Shanghai Classical Literature Publishing House in September 1956, and the Qu Poems published by Guangji Book Company in August 1931. To facilitate readers' study, these three volumes were compiled into two parts for this publication. The publication of Selected Poems, Ci, Qu, and Fu Annotated by Mao Zedong not only allows readers to understand how Mao Zedong studied and researched classical poetry and prose and applied ancient wisdom to the present but also enables them to appreciate the profound depth of ancient Chinese culture and the national spirit it embodies.
