To support her husband's writing, Konno Meiyo resolved to establish a publishing company called "Beidou Publishing," which was actually run by her alone. To keep the publishing company afloat and thriving, Konno Meiyo went to great lengths to persuade famous writers to contribute to her company. Aoi's condition was that Konno Meiyo would accompany him to a hotel. With no choice, Meiyo reluctantly agreed. Konno Meiyo cleverly obtained Aoi's manuscript, but Aoi failed to achieve his goal. As a result, Aoi determined to take revenge, leading to her husband Soichi's departure and suicide. Konno Meiyo's neighbor, Yomiyama Fusa, exposed Aoi's vile behavior during a theater company's performance, ultimately destroying Aoi's reputation.
